About the Fellowship

The global landscape of work is undergoing a seismic shift. By 2035, Africa will have the youngest and largest workforce in the world. However, the UN and PwC estimate that by 2030, a staggering 60% of the world’s 1.8 billion young people will lack the essential skills needed for the labour market. These statistics indicate that although the future will be filled with opportunities for youth in Africa to get decent jobs, very few of them will be prepared to access these opportunities

The Goodwill Fellowship steps in to address this critical challenge. This is not just another training program; it's a transformative 4-month journey designed to empower youth in Cameroon to be prepared for a future of opportunities through soft skills development.

The Fellowship equips youth with the foundational skills that serve as a springboard for personal and professional success. Participants in the fellowship gain the skills, knowledge, and network that form the cornerstone of their path to personal and professional success.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Leadership Development: Master the art of leading with confidence, inspiring others, and driving positive change

  • Effective Communication: Hone your communication abilities for impactful presentations, effective public speaking, and clear, concise written communication.

  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Develop your analytical skills to navigate challenges, identify opportunities, and formulate innovative solutions.

  • Networking and Mentorship: Build lasting connections with a diverse cohort of fellow changemakers and benefit from personalized guidance from experienced mentors throughout the program.

  • Grant and International Opportunities: Compete for small-scale funding to implement your community-driven projects, turning your ideas into reality and a chance to be nominated for international opportunities.

Applications for the 2024 Goodwill Fellowship will run from May 15th - June 21st 2024. We encourage applicants to start their applications as early as possible.
